Mpho Tutu Mpho Tutu's life work has focused on her commitment as a global citizen and leader in a world that is becoming more connected and interdependent on every level. She believes that we must realize, as a single human community, we all depend on each other and belong to each other. Our actions affect everyone and everything and through deliberate action, the world literally changes. Women's perspectives, expertise and unique style play an important role in shaping the future - the future of corporate America , education, politics, our communities the world. Millennia Leaders invites you to come spend a half-day with Mpho Tutu and other talented women who want to play an important role in shaping the future as global leaders. She is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Global AIDS Alliance and a member of the advisory board of Reinvest in South Africa (RISA). She is an Engineering graduate of Howard University , and has a Master of Divinity Degree from the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge MA . She was awarded the 2004 Woman of Distinction Award by South African Women for Women. She attended primary school in England , high school in Swaziland and college in the United States . Rev. Tutu is an Episcopal priest and the founder and Executive Director of the Tutu Institute. Prior to divinity school, Tutu ran after-school and summer programs for children from poor and single-parent homes, she also developed programs for rape survivors and worked at a shelter for women and children who had suffered from domestic violence. She is heavily involved in the Micro Loan and school building program for South Africans at the Get Ahead Foundation. Mpho also consults for the Carnegie Corporation. Mpho is the daughter of Leah Tutu and Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu. |
